Our inspiration for this shoot was “Parisian Chic.” The French have a way of being fashion forward while totally refined, classic and their own. French style holds its own without being trendy or overdone. It is classic, minimal, feminine, and above all else, chic.
For the attire, we chose the upmost classic and timeless look for the groom. Outfitting him in a white dinner jacket with his tux felt classic while his glasses gave him the perfect fashion forward edge. Our bride was dressed in an amazing white pantsuit with a detachable overskirt. The look was modern, edgy, but still totally classic and fashionable. Her delicate jewelry and classic ring made the perfect refined statements paired with the chic ensemble. We kept her hair in a classic French chignon with simple, yet bridal makeup.
The floral and decor were also molded after the combination of traditional chic and modern romantic. We used classic white orchids, roses, carnations, sweet pea, ranunculus, and tulips to create this look. Many people think white roses and orchids are dated, but when paired with fluttery sweet pea and arranged organically, they feel fresh and new.
The tablescape was modern and feminine. We paired a grey linen with a monochrome backdrop for a minimal feel. The tableware was a soft shade of blush to bring in a feminine feel while the gold flatware and streamlined glassware kept it modern and fresh. Instead of one large arrangement, we opted for three single type flower arrangements to, once again, give a modern feel. The hanging floral piece give an additional romantic feel to the design holding true to the original romantic Parisian concept.
For the cake and invitations, we kept things very modern and artistic. The cake mimicked the fluid lines of the orchids while the soft grey kept with the modern monochrome feel of the tablescape. The bilingual invitations were classic and strong, much like the bridal attire, while the blush envelope and vintage stamps kept them feeling feminine and chic.
We see this couple wed in the Musée Rodin with its classic and strong architecture, romantic gardens, and chic, undeniable French feel.
